Registration for Accelerated GDFM 2027-28
The Accelerated Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (Accelerated GDFM) aims to:

- Re-establish Academic CurrencyUpdate and consolidate core knowledge in Family Medicine aligned to the NUS Postgraduate Family Medicine Curriculum Blueprint and current MOH standards of practice.
- Bridge to Master-Level TrainingPrepare eligible in-service doctors who have exceeded the 5-year validity window of the GDFM for progression to the Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) programme by strengthening applied knowledge, consultation skills, and clinical reasoning.
- Enhance Clinical Competency in Ambulatory CareStrengthen competency in chronic disease management, preventive care, multimorbidity management, minor procedures, and patient-centred consultation within Singapore’s primary care context.
- Strengthen Professionalism and LeadershipDevelop competencies in ethics, governance, interprofessional collaboration, communication, and leadership required of primary care physicians.
- Ensure Assessment ReadinessPrepare trainees for successful completion of the NUS Family Medicine Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) and, where applicable, the GDFM Clinical Examinations.
- Support Safe and High-Quality PracticeReinforce evidence-based practice, documentation standards, medico-legal awareness, and reflective learning to ensure safe practice under Singapore’s Healthcare Services Act (HCSA) framework.
This course is offered on a part-time basis.
The programme follows the calendar year with the course commencing in July and ending in May.

The examination is conducted by DGMS, NUS and the examination format is as below:

To graduate, the candidate must pass both Part 1 and 2 of the GDFM examinations.

| Training | Have passed the Graduate Diploma of Family Medicine (GDFM) more than 5 years from the commencement of the course (i.e. exceeded the 5 -years validity period required for admission to the Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) College Programme)
OR Have completed Family Medicine Residency Programme in Singapore and passed the Applied Knowledge Test OR Have MCRGP(UK) or equivalent post-graduate degree as listed in FPAB Category C (namely DABFM (USA), FRACGP (Aus), FRNZCGP, FHKCGP) |
| Clinical Work during Training |
The trainee will be required to sign an undertaking that he/she is in current practice of 24 clinical hours per week, of which 8 hours must be in an approved ambulatory Family Medicine setting. |
| Clinical Inspection & Interview | This will be conducted to assess the suitability of the practice and candidate for Accelerated GDFM training. |
- Only applicants with a regular employment (not including locum doctors) will be accepted.
- Only candidates who have already completed and passed the GDFM examination will be eligible to sign up for the MMed(FM) 2026-2027 intake.
- All prospective applicants will be charged a non-refundable administrative fee of $218 (inclusive of GST) at the point of the course application.

MOH Subsidy
i. Subsidies will be provided for up to 32 trainees for AY 2026 intake
ii. Subsidies will be capped at $12,500 (inclusive of GST) per trainee
College Membership Subsidy
The student must remain as a member of CFPS throughout the duration of his/her course (i.e. November 2027 for the MMed(FM) 2026-27 intake) to enjoy the discounted course fee.
Miscellaneous Fees
During the course of training, a trainee may incur additional expenses such as the purchase of reference textbooks, clinical equipment, online resources such as MCQ Banks, BCLS-AED course, SMA-CMEP course, ITE, MMED(FM) Preparation Courses and MMED(FM) Examination fees.
